In My Haven: December 9

This week in my haven I feel like I am coming to the end of the holiday orders rollercoaster. The last six weeks have been exciting and wonderful, but I am ready to slow down a bit. After I finish these last couple orders, I have some personal sewing projects to finish up for the holidays. Once those are done I plan to spend time reflecting on the past year and getting ready for the next. From now through the beginning of January, things might be a little quiet both here and on my social media as I wind down and prepare for the new year. Just know that I will be at work behind the scenes making sure 2023 is a great year for Haven Handmade.

Slowing down with work will also make space for enjoying and savoring some of my favorite holiday activities. This weekend we are planning to go see the holiday lights display at the Brookfield Zoo. I also want to do some baking and crafting in preparation for family gatherings. Getting cozy and watching a feel-good Christmas movie sounds really nice too. Do you have any winter activities or traditions that you are especially looking forward to?

Haven Handmade Shop

Gift Cards

It might be too late for me to make a special gift for you this year, but you can still get gift cards to the Haven Handmade shop! If you know someone who you think would love my designs, but want them to be able to pick out their favorite, a gift card is the perfect present. Gift cards can even be redeemed for custom orders.

Appliqué Patterns

If you are looking for a quick gift that you can make yourself, my appliqué patterns are a great place to start. They are available in both PDF and SVG formats and they are delivered to your email inbox automatically after purchase. You can even try cutting them from paper instead of fabric if sewing isn't your thing.

More From My Haven

Since life isn't all business, here’s a little more about what’s happening in my haven this week.

  • What I'm Cooking: This utterly simple recipe for Sausage and Potato Roast with Arugula is a family favorite that Joanna requested for dinner this week.

  • What I'm Listening To: Since I haven't started reading anything new, I thought I'd share an episode of the podcast On Being that I listened to this week and really loved. It is an interview between the host, Krista Tippett, and Sylvia Boorstein about motherhood.

  • What Joanna is Listening To: Since I'm sharing a podcast I love, I figured I might as well share one that Joanna loves too. We recently listened to this episode of Wow in the World about robots and both found it very interesting.

What's happening in your haven this week?

Warmly,

Beth
