This Week in Our Haven: No. 28

This week in our haven has been spring break, so I haven’t done much work for the shop. Because of that, this week’s journal post is going to be short and sweet. It was nice to have a lighter workload this week by choice, but I am looking forward to getting some new Huggable designs in the shop next week. Keep your eye out for them because they are super-duper cute!

Shop announcements:

  • There’s nothing new in the shop this week, but the shop is open!

Color-your-own masks and placemats are a great activity and gift that are both practical and fun.

What’s making us happy: This week’s post is just going to be a list of the things making me feel happy and grateful right now because I got my second COVID vaccine dose and I’m feeling pretty tuckered out.

  • Getting fully vaccinated against COVID-19 much sooner than I anticipated

  • Making and playing with homemade playdough (Here’s the recipe we used.)

  • Having a little bit of nice weather that allowed us to enjoy an afternoon at the Morton Arboretum

  • Making this wild rice salad--it’s a family favorite!

  • Having a little time to work on a personal sewing project. (I’m making a Gallery Tunic with a lightweight cotton shirting in a periwinkle blue color.)

  • Sorting through all our closets and donating the clothes we no longer fit or wear

  • Seeing our tomato seeds that we are starting indoors sprout

  • Watching Joanna ride her new bike

  • Being able to sleep in and lounge in our pjs while watching cartoons and morning news shows

On this Good Friday, I hope you and your family are well. To all those who are celebrating Easter this Sunday, I also wish you a joy and hope-filled holiday.
