In My Haven: February 10

This week in my haven I've been hustling to sew as much as I can before our reconstruction begins because I'll have to take a break from sewing again while some of the work is being done. All the items I've been sewing are going to head to Midwest Nice once they're finished. Even though I am not looking forward to life being topsy-turvy while the rebuilding takes place, I am so excited to have my sewing room back soon. I have started to plan and dream how I want it to look once it's finished and newly organized. It's very re-energizing after what's been a long and draining process up until this point. I'll be sure to share plenty of photos of what it looks like once it's done. In addition to having a new sewing room to tell you about soon, I have a few new designs in the works that I'm looking forward to sharing too. Keep reading for a preview of the first one!

Haven Handmade Shop

Coming Soon: Ballet Tutu

I made this ballet tutu design especially for one of my nieces. You may have seen it on social media when I shared a picture of the sweatshirt I made for her. It turned out so darling that I knew I had to add it to the shop! I've got just a few minor tweaks to make and photos to take before it's fully ready to add to the shop though. Once it's ready, I plan to offer this appliqué on the usual line up of products from pillows to tote bags. I will also have the pattern and a tutorial available to go with this design. Stay tuned!

More From My Haven

Since life isn't all business, here’s a little more about what’s happening in my haven this week.

  • What I'm Cooking: If you're looking for comfort food, try making some cheesy baked ziti. Peter is actually the one who cooked this, but it was our best meal of the week by far.

  • What I'm Listening To: I just listened to a new episode of the podcast On Being about experiencing awe and the science behind it. It was fascinating!

  • What Joanna is Reading: We have continued reading A Tale of Magic (Chris Colfer) together, but on her own she's been reading the Witches of Brooklynn graphic novel series (Sophie Escabasse), which is pretty adorable.

What's happening in your haven this week?

Warmly,

Beth
