In My Haven: May 12

This week in my haven I have been thinking a lot about what I want the summer to look like for Haven Handmade. I've been getting a few markets on my calendar, and have been planning what I want to make for those. I also spent a little time deciding what my goals are for Haven Handmade for the next season. I'm going to share them here to help hold myself accountable and also because I know you all will have my back. Ok, so here are my four goals for the summer, in no particular order.

  • Increase number of followers on instagram to 1000

  • Increase number of email list/journal subscribers by 25

  • Teach at least one workshop

  • Sell my products in at least one new shop

Feel free to send words of encouragement or spread the word about Haven Handmade to others to help me reach my goals!

Proud Pony Pillow

My adorable animal appliqués have been consistently popular since I introduced them over a year ago, so this isn't a new design. However, I used a different color combination than the original Proud Pony, and I just love it. I made this one for Midwest Nice in the Berry House Shops in Geneva, Illinois, but I'd be happy to make one for you too!

More From My Haven

Since life isn't all business, here’s a little more about what’s happening in my haven this week.

  • What I'm Cooking: I made chocolate chip cookies using some of my leftover sourdough starter, which was a first. They were delightful!

  • What I'm Reading: I am getting close to the end of Under the Whispering Door (T.J. Klune) and every chapter has been a joy to read.

  • What Joanna is Reading: Joanna and I (finally) finished reading The Last Mapmaker (Christina Soontornvat) together. It turned out to have a very exciting ending, even if it was a little slow-going at the beginning.

  • What’s Making Me Happy: The weather! The warmth and sunshine are so very welcome here in Chicago.

What's happening in your haven this week?

Warmly,

Beth
