This Week in Our Haven: No. 38

This week in my haven I am getting ready for my second in-person handmade market and it’s a lot less stressful and overwhelming than the first one. I’m glad I did so much preparation before my first market because it is making me feel much more confident going into this weekend’s market. (Details below)

Shop announcements:

  • You can find me this Sunday, June 13th in Chicago where I’ll be a vendor at the Pilsen Vendor Market at Pilsen Art House. I’d love for you to come browse, enjoy the live music, and say hello!

Ice cream, books, and summer go together perfectly! Find this cute bookmark and others at the Pilsen Vendor Market this Sunday.

Small Business Spotlight: In this weekly feature I’m going to be sharing some of my personal recommendations of small businesses that I think are worth supporting. This is a completely unpaid promotion and represents my honest opinion. I just enjoy learning about other small businesses and hope you do too!

Chimney + Babo: This one is perfect for Father’s Day coming up next weekend or any family that is looking for activities for the upcoming summer months. There are downloadable painting activities that would make really darling handmade gifts from littles to their dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. The craft kits also have a great educational component that would help keep growing minds active this summer.

Something to Make, Eat, or Do: I’ve been looking for some fun things to do as a family this summer and at the top of my list right now is kayaking for conservation with the Shedd Aquarium. Peter, Joanna, and I all enjoy kayaking, and this sounds like a great way to try it in a new setting, while also learning about nature and wildlife.

Thought for the Week: “Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” (-Amy Collette)

May your weekend be filled with moments that make you feel grateful!
